- 1 orange, rind grated, juice squeezed, reserved
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted, divided
- 1 medium fresh onion, peeled and sliced
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, trimmed, chopped
- 1/2 cup peeled parsnip, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground sage
- 1 10 lbs turkey

| Glazed Turkey with Sweet Potato Dressing Recipe Instructions & Tips:Stuffing: Place the sweet potatoes in a saucepan, cover with water and simmer gently for 15 minutes or until tender. Drain, mash and stir in the grated orange rind. Melt half of the melted butter, in a large skillet, over medium-high heat. Add fresh onion, carrot, celery and parsnip. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Add sage. Add the mixture to the sweet potatoes and mix well. Preheat oven to 450 F. Spoon the stuffing into the turkey. Insert a meat thermometer through the body cavity into the thickest part of the stuffing. Lightly brush the rest of the butter on the turkey then place and arrange in a roasting pan. Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 375 F. and continue baking for 1 to 2 hours or until the internal temperature registers 180 F. Use the reserved orange juice and any juices that collect in the pan to baste the turkey often. When the turkey is cooked, allow to stand for 20 to 30 minutes before carving.
